Apple to make films available for download in UK - May 30, 2008
I'm still reeling from the big "Lost" season finale, but I wanted to link to this
story via the London Times that "Apple is poised to announce it will start selling films from four major Hollywood studios for download in the UK as part of its iTunes internet service at prices on a par with DVDs."
The report says Apple will unveil agreements with Disney, Paramount, Twentieth Century Fox and Warner Brothers. The movies will be available both for outright purchase and for rent, along the lines of video on demand services already available on Virgin Media and Sky.
The exact date on which popular films will be made available is not known, and the release schedule is up to the studios.
