Bono: Radiohead 'courageous for 'In Rainbows' release' - June 24, 2008
(Via
Listening Post) U2-frontman Bono has some kind words for Radiohead, sepcifically their endeavor to let fans pick their own price for
In Rainbows, - according
to a letter that will apparently be published in tomorrow's NME music newspaper.
The singer applauds Radiohead for being "courageous and imaginative in trying to figure out some new relationship with their audience."
Paul McGuinness, U2's band manager, is on record as having said the Radiohead release of
In Rainbows on a tip-jar model had "backfired" and that 'U2 would not be following the band's example when they release their next record.' (

In the letter, Bono differs from McGuinness' comments about Radiohead, writing, "such imagination and courage are in short supply right now..."
They're [Radiohead], a sacred talent, and we feel blessed to be around at the same time."
