AC/DC to sell new album through Wal-Mart - June 9, 2008
I need little, if any, reason to talk AC/DC. In fact, I might put on "Highway To Hell" right now as I write this. But today I have a perfect excuse to discuss AC/DC on the digital pages of Content Agenda because of the news that the legendary rock band
will sell its new album only through Wal-Mart Stores Inc, as reported by the
Wall Street Journal.
It's pretty big news, I have to say; already Wired has a poll up asking if it's a good idea for the band to
release a record exclusively with Wal-Mart, and the
New York Times has a big story today detailing
Wal-Mart's effort to make deals directly with artists.
And, of course, the cutesy headlines are already pouring in:
