Apple could account for a quarter of all music sales in five years - April 28, 2008
Since its launch five years ago, Apple’s iTunes has sold more than 4 billion songs, accounting for 70% of all digital music sales worldwide, according to a
report out today on Wired.com.
In the next five years, Apple’s share could grow to as much as 28% of all music sales worldwide, Wired says. But to maintain its competitive lead, analysts say Apple will have to find new ways to grow its business, possibly through music subscriptions.
