Macworld 2008: The Jobs Keynote: The Summary 

Lots of buzzworthy activity today as the Steve Jobs keynote speech at Macworld 2008 has just ended. The Apple boss covered four main topics: 1. Time Capsule, the wireless backup utility. 2. iPhone/iPod update 3. AppleTV and iTunes movie rentals. 4. MacBook Air. Gizmodo live-blogged the whole thing. About that MacBook Air -- it looks awesome. Gizmodo has some great images of the new 'must-have.' Macworld also blogged the event and has some excellent photos. About the iTunes/movie rentals? The quick skinny: ...enables users to download movies and watch for a short time rather than having to buy. Priced at $3.99 for new releases, $2.99 for "library titles." Studios involved are Fox, WB, Disney, Paramount, Universal and Sony, Touchstone, Miramax, MGM, New Line and Lions Gate. Service debuts end of February with 1,000+ movies. Available to rent 30 days after DVD release.
