Pandora parts with UK audience

Sad news for Pandora fans in the U.K. The net radio station that tailors programming around listeners' individual music tastes is shuttering service on January 15 to its British audience due to those unresolved royalty issues. The BBC News story notes that, 'the argument hinges on the rates Pandora pays to UK music rights groups to stream music to British users. In an e-mail sent to UK listeners, Pandora founder Tim Westergren said he was "very, very sorry" for the abrupt end to the service.' There is hope the problem can be resolved and Pandora will be back soon.
